WALKING THE PATH OF YOUR SPIRIT
The aim of the training is to make you a more skillful, passionate, and intelligent teacher, so you are better equipped to deal with whatever challenges your student may have. Teaching authentically is much more effective and compelling for both you and your students.
Trainees will be encouraged and empowered to develop both as individuals and as teachers. Through meditation, intense daily yoga practice, group instruction, trainees can begin to discover the voice of their own spirit, which leads to a truly authentic life path.
COURSE CONTENT
The Forrest Yoga Continuing Education for Teacher program is comprised of three components: Meditation, daily Forrest Yoga Intensives, and afternoon Training & Instruction.
Meditation and Chanting (6:00am - 6:45am)
The tools of meditation are chanting, sitting as well as questions and answers. These tools are used to help quiet the chatter of the mind in order to examine this question with clarity and focus.
Each morning prior to the daily intensive yoga practice Ana will use storytelling, chanting, sitting meditation to help trainees free their minds from their attachment to habitual patterns of thinking and the resulting habitual patterns of action. The freedom from habitual thinking will have an immediate effect on your yoga and in your life.
Forrest Yoga Intensives (7:00am - 9:00am)
As the foundation of this course the daily intensive yoga practice, taught by Ana, will create a heightened sense of physical, emotional and spiritual awareness while challenging every muscle and cell in your body. Through a carefully constructed and rigorous Forrest Yoga series of asanas, Ana will open you to amazing depths and feelings of awareness. You will leave feeling cleansed, refreshed and alive. The intensives are a sanctuary where you can feel safe enough to open up, work through issues that may arise and go beyond your perceived limitations. You will learn about yourself and feel what it is like to have freedom in your own body and mind. The intensives are sure to bring trainees to new levels within their yoga practice. Injuries are addressed so that each trainee experiences these classes as part of his or her own healing practice.
Training & Instruction (12:00 - 4:00pm)
Daily four-hour sessions of training and instruction comprise the afternoon portion of the course. Using skill-building exercises, trainees will work with the essential elements of teaching, such as: class sequencing, explore optimal personal nutrition, work with sadhanas (spiritual exercises), learn about personal and professional ethics, effective pose sequencing, the use of safe and effective hands-on adjustments, and effective clear, concise and powerful communication, eliminating mind-dulling habitual phrases, and tone of voice as well as the continued development of a more charismatic presence and honesty in your class.
NOTE TO TRAINEES TO PREPARE
We suggest that all interested trainees get Ana's products and do them before attending the training. Her DVD's ("Strength & Spirit" and "The Pleasure of Strength") and the Forrest Yoga 5-Day Intensive (CD's & Book) introduce the concepts of Forrest Yoga and provide practice for the trainees in Forrest Yoga. The more the FYCET trainees are familiar with Forrest Yoga, the more they will progress during Ana's training stay.
