Bethany Keen
Yoga is the means to bring balance to our lives, our existence, our relationships, and to our true Selves. I began my journey onto the yogic path as my soul guided me to find a way to bring balance to my life. Through yoga I have found healing, inspiration, fulfillment, strength and bliss!
I strive to find the universal principals in all forms of yoga, and bring the best of everything I have learned to each class I teach, based on the students that are present.I have taught classes and workshops in Indianapolis, IN, Louisville, KY and throughout the Midwest. Along with yoga, I study and teach applied metaphysics, in association with the national not-for-profit organization The School of Metaphysics.
I am grateful to have studied with many different teachers. I offer gratitude for my first mentor, Jerri Lee Lucas, teacher of esoteric healing yoga. My main influences come from mystudy of Ashtanga yoga through It’s Yoga in Cincinnati; also teacher trainings with Angela Farmer and Victor Van Kooten, Rajaranga Iyengar, and Doug Swenson. Recently my primaryinfluences have been more Anusara based, and I thank Desiree Rumbaugh and Sianna Sherman for their influence on my practice and study of yoga. I also thank Amy Pawlus and Dr. Daniel Condron for their guidance as teachers in my study of metaphysics.
I continue to enhance and deepen the practice and evolution of how yoga moves through me, and how I give this to others. I include pranayama, asanas, as well as guided meditation and visualization exercises in my classes. I merge the study of the mind, and the body during each class that I teach. I firmly believe in the power of the mind to transform and heal the individual, and I endeavor to empower students to create this for themselves. My hope is for any individual who steps on their mat to awaken to the grace that lies inherently within them, and realize they are the creators of their own unique experience!
